IBY Alumni Board Meeting 6-9-2022
  • Members Present:
    • In Person:  Andy McDonnell, Brian Davis, Rob Maynard, Tony Albright
    • Remote:  Jeff LeClerc, Brian Smith, Christian Stone, Andre Juneau
  • 2021 In Review
    • Golf/Donations/Super Bowl/Poker
      • Discussed previous year events and discussed Poker event being replaced by the Super Bowl pool. 
      • Availability of board to coordinate the Poker event was an issue and likely an ongoing issue.
      • Continuation of Golf Tournament and Super Bowl pool seems obtainable by current board.
      • Other events/ideas can be run by others on board if they want to take ownership and coordination of event.
  • Financial Review
    • Tony provided a review of the current financial situation.
      • Current Cash Balance is: $2,600
      • Above is after approximately $2,500 in various deposits and payments for the Golf tournament.
      • Current cash balance is aligned with typical operational cash flow goal of $4k-$5k in reserves.
      • Total charitable donations since organization inception:  $63,345
  • Golf Planning
    • Website/Fees/Sponsors
      • www.ibygolf.com reviewed and agreed on fees and sponsorship per website build.  
      • Andy to get communication in place and submitted to Brian, Rob and Alex for distribution.
      • Discussed and agreed to keep food selection at Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and BBQ Chicken.
    • Raffle
      • Discussed and agreed on the Jayson Tatum autographed jersey; $25 per ticket, 100 tickets.
    • Swag Bag
      • Discussed and agreed that we would provide water and snacks at the check-in table, no investment in SWAG.
    • Day of Fundraising
      • Discussed and agreed to keep the money tree and Mulligan String for check-in. 
      • Sports memorabilia silent auction still TBD and up to Brian/Andy to decide.
  • Active Update
    • Christian reported that the new house on River Street is going well and they expect to have an event at Homecoming.
    • Andre mentioned desire to look into making active organization a Not-For-Profit.  Tony discussed pros/cons and encouraged actives to do additional research into cost/timeframe/longevity/benefits of pursuing this.
    • School is not blackballing the actives, but still not fully endorsing them in the ‘inactive’ status.  Several PSU Greek leadership changes are ongoing.
  • Other New Business
    • General discussion around the need to get more involvement on board if organization is to continue.
    • If Golf and Super Bowl squares are the only focus, it is much easier to manage.
    • Desire to have some of the new board members gain momentum on board and solicit additional board membership from younger alumni.

      • Special note of thanks to both Jeff Leclerc and Alex Djevalikain for their service as VP and Secretary and for their continued support of the board moving forward.
  • Next Meeting:  Mid-August for final golf planning.
